Recipe for Fun!

For two to four players, this is a great physical game to play both indoors and outside to strengthen hand eye coordination!

STEP 1: Each player colors a paper plate using colored markers, pencils, or crayons to make it their own.

STEP 2: Depending on the age of the child, help them to tape a long popsicle stick or an empty paper towel roll to the back of the plate so that it’s secure and the child is able to grip it well when playing. This will be their racquet!

STEP 3: With adult supervision, move some furniture around so that a there is plenty of space to move around and on either side couch or a table.

STEP 4: Cover the furniture with a sheet, blanket, or large beach towel to protect it from play. This will be the “net”.

STEP 5: Blow up a few balloons for the “balls”.

STEP 6: Start with one player on each side (or two on each side for a total of 4) and determine the rules for the points or the length of the time frame to play.

STEP 7: The object of the game is to “volley” the balloon over the “net” without letting it hit the floor. Depending upon the age of the players, the rules can allow the balloon to be hit just once over or multiple times to get it over the net for each point.

STEP 8: The player that reaches 10 points or gets the most points when time is up is the win.
